Personal profile
I am Sara Pérez Maqueda, a biomedical and scientific illustrator.
I have graduated in Biomedicine from the Francisco de Vitoria University (Madrid, Spain) in 2023 and that same year I did my internship on the CRISPRi/a system at the Medizinische Hochschule Hannover (Hannover, Germany).
Afterwards, I specialized with a master's degree in Scientific Illustration of Natural Sciences at the University of Girona (Catalonia, Spain) in 2024 and developed my practices on the reconstruction of fossils found at the Quebrada Fiera Site (Argentina) and under the agreement of the Complutense University of Madrid.
I am currently studying 3D Animation, Video Games, and Interactive Environments with the goal of enriching my work as a scientific illustrator through animated and interactive resources that enhance the understanding and dissemination of knowledge.
Education
In 2025, I decided to expand the visual formats I can offer for scientific projects by enrolling in a Advanced Vocational Training in 3D Animation, Games and Interactive Environments at University of Technology and Digital Arts.
From May to July 2024 I developed my master's internship focused on the anatomical reconstruction and life appearance of five fossil species found in the Quebrada Fiera Site (Argentina) under the agreement of the Complutense University of Madrid.
In the year 2023/24 I specialized with the master's degree in Scientific Illustration of Natural Sciences offered by the University of Girona.
From February to June 2023 I carried out my internship in the laboratory of the Medizinische Hochschule Hannover institution on the CRISPRi/a system focused on Adenovirus.
From the academic year 2019/20 to 2022/23 I studied for a degree in Biomedicine with University-specific Degree in Entrepreneurship and Business Management.
